Anti-Fascist protesters gathered outside Central Harrow Mosque on Friday after an anti-Islamic groups planned to hold a protest there on the 8th anniversary of the September 11th attacks in the US. Up to a thousand people were present opposed to the group Stop Islamification of Europe which said it would hold a protest, although this was later called off. A group of white males, thought to be anti-Islamic protesters, were detained and later escorted out the area by police, who had to hold back Muslim protesters who attempted to throw stones. Later, Muslim protesters broke through police lines and attacked a young white male before being chased back by police. Youths then proceeded to throw stones and firecrackers at the police before backing down. Minor skirmishes with police continued on into the evening.

The constituency home of MPs Ann and Alan Keen became the scene of an alleged sex attack after a final party thrown by squatters before their eviction was gatecrashed. After being given 24 hours to leave the home by Brentford County Court the squatters threw a party to celebrate their eviction, inviting locals to join them. Gatecrashers also caused large amounts of damage to the property, smashing many of the windows. The squatters are assisting police with investigations, and as a concilatory gesture to neighbors swept the street outside the home on saturday. Squatters occupied the house two weeks ago in protest at the number of people who the government cannot find accomodation for while homes go empty and MPs claim taxes for themselves.

Squatters who moved into the first home of MPs Ann and Alan Keen, who are under scrutiny for their expenses claims, were served with an Interim Possession Order (IPO) by Brentford County Court today, the MPs were not in attendance. The order means they must vacate the premesis by 4:30pm tomorrow (Saturday 11 july) or they may be removed by police. Squatters, who moved into the MPs' Brentford home two weeks ago, are trying to raise awareness for the number of people who the government cannot find accomodation for while homes go empty and MPs claim taxes for themselves. The squatters say they will resist the order on the grounds that it contains a number of errors, and because it was presented to them after the court had closed.

A few minutes before the planned time of 12:30 April 1st climate change protesters began setting up tents in the street at Bishopsgate outside the European Climate Exchange. Protesters hoped to remain there for 24 hours to send a message to the G20 summit on April 2nd. Police attempted to remove the first few tents, however within a couple of minutes there were too many and police withdrew to chants of: 'Leave the tents!' A carnival like atmosphere quickly descended on the street with music, singing and dancing. Protesters put up banners and created a blockade of bicycles at either end of the street. Compost toilets were established to solve the inevitable issues of attempting to hold the street for 24 hours, and a kitchen began serving food. As well as music from bands and bicycle mounted speaker systems protesters also held workshops and poetry sessions, inviting passers by and city workers to join them. The police put a loose cordon around the camp, but were happy to allow people to come and go as they pleased. However, by 7pm the policing situation had changed. Following violence across the city police decided to close the cordons, containing the camp and not allowing people in or out. The protesters kept their moral high with more singing and dancing, and prepared a meeting to discuss the situation. Protesters from other parts of the city moved into the junction of Wormwood street and Bishopsgate to show solidarity with the camp, and were held back by police. Over the next few hours protesters decided that people wishing to stay should sit in front of police lines and protest peacefully, while those wishing to leave should go when police were willing to allow them to do so. At the southern end of the camp protesters proceded to make an orderly withdrawal to consolidate their position in the north, where by 11pm police were alowing people to leave in small groups having dispersed protesters on the junction of Wormwood street. Protesters moved north a few steps at a time, organised by loudspeakers, and police followed. Protesters retreated 50 yards, removing their litter and banners as they went, but by this point it was becoming clear the police were not going to allow them to remain in the street all night. Shortly after half 11 police made the decision to try and push protesters back and force them to disperse. They charged seated protesters with shields, and moved forward to destroy and capture protesters bike mounted speaker systems which they were using to organise their withdrawal. At the northern end of the camp police began removing banners, bunting and barricades of bikes, and as the number of protesters dwindled Police continued with attempts to intimidate them into leaving. Before long Police made a final push to drive them from the street. Protesters collected as much food and equipment as possible as Police pushed them back and forced them to disperse. By 1am the police had control of the street, while the protesters dispersed into the night.
