31/10/2009 - London, United Kingdom. A Islam4UK planned demonstration 'March4Shariah' saw counter protest groups gather at Piccadilly Circus in central London Saturday. Several dozen people gathered from The English Defence League (EDL) & British Muslims for Secular Democracy (BMSD) from about midday to opposse Islam4UK's call for Islamic Law (Shari’ah) in the United Kingdom. A press release on the Islam4UK website claimed 'Unfortunately, in the run up to the planned event, it had also become apparent that certain right-wing/anti-Islamic organisations had become intent on preventing the march from going ahead, using threats of physical violence, including bomb and death threats to any member of the Muslim community who happened to attend the march.' The press release went on to say that the March4Shariah/Islamic Roadshow would be relocated to an 'undisclosed location' it was not clear where or if the event took place and calls to Anjem Choudary went unanswered.
