Story:

The unique festival of Raksha Bandhan(Raksha:Security, Bandhan:tie or knot) is a traditional festival of celebrating sibling love.

The sister ties a decorated thread called Rakhi on her brother to invoke the solemn duty of the brother to protect her from all troubles.

Its a day when all Hindu men visit there sister for Rakhi ceremony.Now this festival has become cosmopolitan as it transgresses religious boundaries.Sisters apply Tilak(Red Sindur) on the brothers forehead and tie the Rakhi post this the sweet is offered and at last its the traditional Indian Aarati (Praying with burning lamps of pure Ghee (Clarified butter)).

The food pattern differs from region to region but its mostly a vegetarian fare.
