Today in the Iranian capital the green anti-government protesters battled in the streets with the Iranian police forces, Baiji militia men and the special guards. It has been reported that 4 people have been killed in today’s street battles with the police one of them the nephew of opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi. Tehran, Iran. 27/12/09. The green movement attacked any symbol of state authority, they attacked policemen, riot police, fire bombed their vehicles and even the police station across the major cities including here in the Valie Asr Square. The Baiji building in Hafez Street was also fire bombed; reports of injuries are yet to be verified.

Today was Quds Day in Iran. This day is dedicated to Al-Quds, Palestinians and all nations who are under injustice governments. (According to Imam Khomeini's quote regarding this day. Imam Khomeini is the creator of this holiday). Quds day is the last Friday of Ramadan, so it happens once a year. But this year, and this Ramadan, we had a completely different Quds day. After the presidential election aftermath, The Green Movement of Iran couldn't come to streets, because they would be jailed, raped or even killed. So today was a brilliant occasion for The Green Movement to show their power and their quantity. So they became to streets, while today's demonstration was totally legal! I can't make an exact count, but it seemed that Green people were at least 2.5 million, while the opposition were at most 50 thousands. But the opposition (Hizbollah and hard liners) has governmental support, and support by police. And they had tens of trucks supplied with giant speakers, so they could yell at Green people and make them fear.

Tehran Islamic City Council (Shoraye Shahre Tehran) The meeting room was full of crowd today. Some people didn't have any seat. They were families of arrested, disappeared and killed politicians, journalists, lawyers and normal people who was arrested during the election aftermath. Families introduced themselves and talked about their problems, and the fact that they are unable to contact their son/daughter/sister/brother/father. And that they are under physical, neural and mental torture. Even a mother told that she heard that her daughter is being raped in jail. Sometimes when someone spoke, others where crying. Specially when mother of Sohrab was speaking. Ms. Ebtekar which was in cabinet of Mr. Khatami ex-president of Iran, brought a suggestion. She said that we (members of Tehran Islamic City Council) can set a meeting with Mr. Shahroudi (master of Judgement power) and report him what you told us today. A lady asked the council members to sign a letter and anounce that we hate what's going on these days with our people. Then Mr. Chamran left the meeting. (mr. Chamran is one of supporters of Mr. Ahmadi Nejad). Then meeting continued without him. 4 members from the council are: 1. Mr. Chamran (chief of parliament) 2. Dr. Ali Najafi 3. Dr. Masoume Ebtekar 4. Mr. Dabir Some of the arrested people are: (families of this people were there today) * Behzad Nabavi * Mohsen Safai Farahani * Mohsen Mirdamadi * Keyvan Samimi * Ghochani * Tajzadeh * Ghalebi * Ahmad Zeidabadi * Bastani * Javad Emam And mother of Martyr Sohrab A'rabi.
Meeting between 4 Members of the Islamic City Council of Tehran and the Families of Arrested People

Today on the date of the accession of Muhammad to becoming a prophet, notably known as “Eid Mab’as” which is a national holiday in Iran, Mir Hussein Mousavi held a meeting with the families of the arrested prisoners in the Huseinieye Dar-Ol- Zahra (A Large Mosque) located at the northern part of Tehran, Iran. This was an un-announced private meeting in order to avoid confrontation with the intelligence police of the regime and not to attract the masses which could take attention away from the event. The meeting was organized directly via telephone with the families involved, and attended by a number of leading and prominent figures, including ex interior minister Mr Mohtashamipour, ex-mayor of Tehran Mr Alviri, Mr Beheshti who is the son of late Shahid Beheshti, Mr Armin who is a well known member of the Mojahedin Enghelab Eslami party, Mr Jalaeepour who is senior university lecturer. Mousavi’s wife Mrs Rahnavard and ex chair of the Al-Zahra University in Tehran also attended, as ever side by side of her husband like the election campaign. After introduction and prayers, Mr Hamid Reza Jalaeepour the father of Mohammad Reza Jalaeepour whom has spent numerous months in prison made a speech himself. Jalaeepour mentioned the conditions in the prison where his son is kept in solitary confinement and is taken out of his cell every 4 to 5 days for interrogation purposes. This is significant considering the fact that his son is highly respected due to his scientific credentials and has achieved a number of medals and recognitions from various institutions and is currently a registered PhD student in the United Kingdom. This was followed by more family members expressing grief at the loss of their loved ones, culminating in the reading out of a poem which drew applause from the attending masses. Afterwards Mousavi gave a speech, the partial excerpt from which follows soon:
