Comité de Madres y Frente Cívico Femenino celebran día de las madres.

Un grupo de féminas del Comité de Madres “Leonor Pérez” se unieron con el Frente Cívico Femenino “Gladis Núñez Villalta” y realizaron el pasado 9 de mayo una actividad para homenajear a las madres cubanas.

En una hermosa velada se hablo sobre el origen del día de las madres, la periodista independiente Aime Cabrera leyó versos de José Martí alegóricos a la fecha. Marta Bonachea Rojas presidenta del Frente Cívico recordó a madres ya fallecidas como Mirta Villanueva, Mercedes Núñez, Iris Sánchez y Gladis Núñez las cuales fueron madres queridas y amorosas que lucharon por un futuro mejor para Cuba.

La actividad se realizó en calle 110 Apto 1 entre 3era y 3era A en el Municipio de Playa sede del Frente Cívico Femenino.

La Habana, May 2nd, Jesus Emilio Hernandez Figueroa, an independent cuban journalist, was asked to come in for a meeting at the Revolutionary National Police’s station by the the Police chied Toirac, the Head of his area. The police interviewed Herandez Figueroa, with the intention to know about his journalistic angles. The comunicator is an independent journalist and is afraid of being expelled from his profession due to his article and condemnation of the Cuban regime. “I have been checked and controlled by supporters of the government, they expect to catch me doing ilegal activities so they can apply some sanction. I know that behind this meeting the Security of the State is present”, claimed Jesus Emilio. Citan a periodista independiente. Por: Aini Martín Valero, Agencia Libre Asociada. Jesús Emilio Hernández Figueroa, periodista independiente cubano, fue citado para la Policía Nacional Revolucionaria No 13 de Regla, por el capitán Toirac, Jefe de Sector de su área, el pasado 2 de mayo. El policía entrevisto a Hernández Figueroa con la intención de conocer su vínculo laboral actual. Reunión de ejecutivos del Partido Republicano de Cuba Algunos delegados de Ciudad de La Habana del Partido Republicano de Cuba ( PRC), se reunieron este 23 de abril con la intención de reestructurar las distintas delegaciones. Se tomo como acuerdo que debido a elecciones libres y democráticas Lázaro Alonso Román presida la delegación de Habana Vieja, puesto que su director actual Silvio Herrera viajara dentro de poco hacia el exilio. Se llevo a votación y se decidió por mayoría que Juan Carlos Bous fuera el director de la delegación de Regla. Por otro lado Alejandro José Botella será el director de la delegación de Arroyo Naranjo, mientras que Katia Sonia Martín será la directora de Centro Habana. Los delegados de Cayo Hueso, 10 de Octubre, Centro Habana, Regla, Habana Vieja y Boyeros se mostraron muy entusiastas y trazaron planes y tareas a seguir, con la intención de llevar a cada rincón del país las líneas a seguir del PRC. La actividad se realizo en la casa de Lázaro Alonso Román en la barriada de la Habana Vieja.

Political leader Discusses Cuban Issues Hector Palacio Ruiz, president of the Liberal Unity of the Republic of Cuba (ULRC), gave a conference on the 14th April at the headquarters of the Feminine Civic Front 'Gladys Nunez Villalta' about the current political and social situation in Cuba. Palacio Ruiz sustained a discussion about the changes that are taking place in Cuba, he used the examples of Fidel Castro no longer being in power and the dismissal of fourteen cabinet ministers. He also commented on how the Cuban government has been debilitated, divided and fragmented:' the Cuban people think different and speak about change without fear.' The group of women gave their undivided attention throughout the liberal leader's talk, with whom he engaged in a healthy discussion over the letter sent to the president of the US in which they raised the issue of diverting funds towards the democratization of Cuba. The women, led by Marta Bonachea Rojas, signed a document in support of the missive sent to Barack Obama. They considered the resources invested from the american people should go straight into the cuban peoples' hands without any meddling from intermediary organizations. El grupo de mujeres del frente estuvieron muy atentas a las palabras del líder liberal, él cual debatió con estás la carta enviada al presidente estadounidense donde se plantea el tema del desvió de los fondos destinados a la democratización de Cuba. Las féminas lideradas por Marta Bonachea Rojas, firmaron un documento de apoyo a la misiva enviada a Barack Obama, las cuales consideran que los recursos que aportan el pueblo americano deben llegar a las manos del pueblo cubano sin que medien organizaciones del exilio.

La Habana, April 19th, Álvaro Yero Felipe an independent journalist of Agencia Libre Asociada was assaulted by a Member of the Cuban Communist Party in la Playa Hermosa. Yero, began to sing “Change ,Change..” As 50 balloons where let into the air with the word “Change” they began chanting “Long live Human Rights, Down with the Embargo, We want Freedom”. Sara Hernández, Member of the Communist Party present at the time, assaulted Yero Felipe with a fork leading to scratches in the thorax, while screaming worm, sell out and other indecencies. More than 200 people, many of them foreigners defended the speaker, as the National Revolutionary Police burst onto the stage. Álvaro Yero Felipe and the young people together with the aggressor where moved to the Police station Guanabo. The police that was present did not want to press charges, nor fine the young while branding the aggressor as a crazy and eccentric person. Álvaro Yero Felipe periodista independiente de la Agencia Libre Asociada fue agredido este Domingo 19 de Abril por una mujer, miembro del Partido Comunista de Cuba en la Villa Turística Playa Hermosa , en el Este de Ciudad de La Habana. Yero Felipe acompañado de 4 jóvenes disfrutaban de las actividades del lugar cuando el DJ – con previo acuerdo de los jóvenes- comenzó a cantar por el micrófono al ritmo de la música, Cambio, cambio….. Mientras se lanzaban desde el aire mas de 50 globos con la palabra Cambio y comenzaron a corear Vivan los Derechos Humanos, Abajo el Embargo y Queremos Libertad. Sara Hernández la cual se encontraba en el lugar invistió a Yero Felipe con un tenedor provocándole arañazos en el tórax, gritándole gusano , vende patria y otros improperios. Las mas de 200 personas muchos de ellos extranjeros defendieron al comunicador, irrumpiendo en el local la Policía Nacional Revolucionaria. Álvaro Yero Felipe y los otros jóvenes fueron trasladados junto a la agresora a la PNR de Guanabo, el policía que se encontraba en carpeta no quiso levantar cargos, ni aplicar multas contra los muchachos y tildo a la agresora de una persona loca y excéntrica.

Members of the Liberal Unity of the Cuban Republic, the Everyone United Movement and the Agenda for the Transition held a press conference 9th April to present a letter which was to be sent the president of the US, Barack Obama. The letter contains various points in which the dissidents raise situations and worries which affect the cuban opposition. The most important topic in this document refers to the resources that the US would provide to help facilitate the democratization of the cuban people. The letter to the president reflects how these funds don't get to Cuba: 'if the government of the US cannot guarantee, in advance, that the assistance for the promotion of democracy actually arrives, with high priority, in the first place, inside our country, it will be better to give back those funds and employ them in other initiatives.' The participants of the different movements were: Francisco Chaviano González, Ana Margarita Perdigón Brito, Gisela Delgado Sablón, Guillermo Fariñas Hernández, Elizardo Sánchez Santacruz, Orlando Martínez Padrón, Jorge Omar Lorenzo y Marta Bonachea Rojas. This conference which was covered by various accredited press agencies in the country and independent cuban journalists. Realizan conferencia para presentar carta a Barack Obama. Miembros de la Unidad Liberal de la República de Cuba, del Movimiento Todos Unidos y la Agenda para la Transición realizaron este 9 de Abril una conferencia de prensa para presentar una carta que será enviada próximamente al presidente de los Estados Unidos, Barack Obama. La carta contiene varios puntos en los cuales estos disidentes plantean situaciones y preocupaciones que afectan a la oposición cubana. El tema fundamental de este documento son los recursos que provienen del contribuyente norteamericano y que supuestamente son para ayudar a la democratización del pueblo cubano. La carta al señor presidente refleja como estos fondos no llegan a Cuba, Si el gobierno de los EE.UU. no puede garantizar, en lo adelante, que la ayuda para la promoción de la democracia llegue realmente, de manera prioritaria, al principal escenario, es decir al interior de nuestro país, entonces será mejor retirar esos fondos y emplearlos en otros objetivos- plantea uno de los puntos del documento. Los participantes por los distintos movimientos fueron: Francisco Chaviano González, Ana Margarita Perdigón Brito, Gisela Delgado Sablón, Guillermo Fariñas Hernández, Elizardo Sánchez Santacruz, Orlando Martínez Padrón, Jorge Omar Lorenzo y Marta Bonachea Rojas. Esta conferencia que conto con distintas agencias de prensa acreditadas en el país y periodistas independientes cubanos, se realizo en la casa de Héctor Palacios Ruiz, ex prisionero político y de conciencia miembro del grupo de los 75.
