As part of the St George in Southwark Festival, the Ballad of St George and the Dragon was performed in front of Southwark Cathedral in south London. Twelve minutes of thrilling open air theatre saw the tale of how St George, the national hero of England, struck down the dragon and saved the nation. Accompanied by medieval ballads and dance this was a fitting tribute to the St George’s Day celebrations in London.
