Women's FA Cup 5th Round
Blackburn Rovers overcame Northern League OOH Lincoln with a spectacular last minute overhead volley from record goalscorer, Katie Anderton.
In a humdinger of an FA Cup tie from two highly committed sides, the game was close to boiling over at times. Rovers had the better of the first half with goals from Katie Anderton and Kate Male being ruled out for off-side. Mid-way in the second period a Lincoln defender was penalised for handball and ex-Blackburn keeper Kaye Hawke pulled off a terrific save to deny the Rovers striker Anderton.
As the game entered the second period of extra-time, both sides had chances with both keepers pulling off good saves. As the game drew to a close, with a shoot-out looming Anderton pulled off a spectacular overhead kick for a dramatic winner.
