Elderly people living in a geriatric centre vote in the second round of presidential elections. Sevastopol, Ukraine. 07/02/2010.

The geriatric hospital in Sevastopol held second round voting for patients during the Ukrainian elections. Within the geriatric hospital there are one hundred and fifty patients, only half of whom can move independently. The remainder of patients are bedridden and have little insight into the candidates standing for presidency. Nursing staff ask several elderly patients "Who do you like, a man or a woman, Victor or Julia"?

Several patients cannot lift a hand and nurses voted for them by approbation of the Electoral Commission. During the voting process the patients of Sevastopol geriatric centre were equipped with a polling station entitling each individual to their own choice of candidate.

The Crimea region was hit by heavy snow storms bringing low temperatures, traffic jams, and snow and sleet to Sevastopol on Wednesday. Sevastopol, Ukraine. 03/02/2010. Today, Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in Sevastopol (Ukraine, Crimea), is getting cold. Heavy snow and sleet were expected not only to citizens, but also for road services, which were not able to provide clean roads. In the Crimea was declare a storm. As a result, increasing the probability of damage to communication lines and power in the settlements, falling slightly fortified structures, trees, and injuries among the population. Increased risk of delays in the movement of vehicles and of road traffic congestion.

Today, January 24, Sunday, in Sevastopol (Ukraine, the Crimea), an inhabitant Constantine Zarudnev burned his Ukrainian passport in protest against the appropriation of the title Hero of Ukraine to Stepan Bandera. Before the burning of his Ukrainian passport Zarudnev cut out his photo from his passport: 'Maybe it will prove useful to a new passport of an independent state of the Crimea' - commented Sevastopol. Zarudnev commented on his actions: 'The attempt to justify a man, who was engaged in state terrorism and political assassinations, is an alarm signal to society. This is a sign that in future such people can do with impunity whatever they wish, and nothing will happen. On my mind Yushchenko should prohibit entry into all countries which are fighting with terrorism. '

In Sevastopol finished celebrating of Epiphany - the Christian holiday, which celebrated in honour of the christening of Jesus Christ in the River Jordan by John the Baptist. In Chersonesos (historical and archaeological reserve), in Vladimir's Cathedral was the Divine Liturgy, which was dedicated to this holiday. After the public liturgy, the Orthodox people went to gather holy water and bathe in sanctified the Black Sea. That day, Orthodox celebrate Epiphany or the Feast of Theophany. This is the third festival, which completes the cycle of Christmas. The Church considers the Epiphany as a 'feast of enlightenment' nations, because, according to its teachings, namely, the Epiphany of Jesus began to preach the Gospel truth. The Christian world celebrates the feast of Epiphany in January 19.

The first round of presidential elections took place in Ukraine on January 17, 2010. In the elections were 18 candidates from different parties as well as the candidates who do not belong to any political force. In Sevastopol before the elections, candidates with met with voters.
