Donna Karan and the Urban Zen Foundation, joined by our friends and partners as a conscious community, are dedicating ourselves to ongoing support for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Now working with doctors and nurses to procure medical supplies for those in greatest need, Donna Karan helped to stock and send down to Haiti a special flight carrying supplies, including donations by Urban Zen and Young Living Essential Oils, to be used by medical professionals treating patients and care givers. Join us in heartfelt gratitude to all those whose generosity made this possible.
Now is an opportunity for all of us in New York City to come together and help rebuild a community in Haiti that implements sustainable solutions. We are focused on both immediate relief and the longer-term rebuilding efforts that will be critical to preserving Haitian culture and sustaining its vibrant people.
"This is not a moment in time. It's a movement for a lifetime," says Donna Karan, founder of Urban Zen.
We are collecting non-perishable items - summer clothing, blankets, walking shoes and toys - that will be sent to Haiti through one or more relief organizations. If you would like to donate, please bring your items to the Urban Zen Center at the Stephan Weiss Studio, 711 Greenwich Street, New York City, between the hours of 10am - 4pm, Mondays through Fridays, beginning January 21, 2010.
