Malakhra is a Sindh-based traditional game of power and strength and requires few techniques. Virtually anyone who has the mass and some strength up his sleaves can play this game. Holding tight onto the rope affixed of the competitor is one of the keys of making a winning move. Firmer the grip better the chances are for winning. Wrestlers are all set to take each other on. Usually, it takes less than a minute for one wrestler to take down the other. Only sometimes, the tie goes for over 1 minute. Helpers are as important to Malakra as are the players themselves. These helpers help their men get a good, tight grip of the opponent's rope. It will be this rope handling which will define the malakra itself. Better control over the rope means a clear victory. These wrestlers may not hold onto anything else except the ropes which are tied around the waist. It is rare for players to get aggressive with their opponents as is common in games like cricket or football. Before and after the malakhra, opponents shake hands, talk to each other about their work. This is a remarkable feature of this game: It does not divide; it brings together competing people, even though money and prestige are at stake.

Men and women gather at the tomb of poet and scholar, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai to mark his death anniversary. Groups of people stay there for three days and nights to sing, dance, listen to Kafiyas and indulge in charas (local heroin) and bhang. Bhit Shah, Pakistan. 11/02/09. Every year URS or death anniversary of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is celebrated in the town of Bhit Shah, named after this Sindhi poet-Saint. He wrote Kafiyas, which told stories about love and God and reminded humans to believe in the religion of love not hatred. His Kafiyas or verses are recited throughout his home province, Sindh, and is known to all Sindhis.
