11.11.2009 Warsaw, Poland. Anti Fascist Demonstration in Warsaw on Independence Day.
November 11 is a day of reflection on liberation, but also on a critical reflection on the role of national identity. November 11 is a day of mobilization against aggressive nationalism and fascist tendencies in society! November 11 is a symbolic date, identified with the regaining of independence by Poland. Consequently, the feast, on the streets of towns and villages, in schools and offices each year are organized numerous festivals, concerts and other holiday related events.
Unfortunately, recent years in Warsaw, the Feast brings also the members of the All-Polish Youth, the National Radical Camp (ONR), Polish National Rebirth (NOP) and the neo-Nazi group Blood and Honor and Combat18 who also organizing a march in Warsaw. Define themselves as patriots, and in fact preach xenophobic, fascist, racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic, the symbols (swastika, Celtic cross, phalanx) to carry banners. During that demonstration they are shouting fascist and Nazi word ( "Poland for Poles", "Jews to the gas, preferably at once). This not only offends the followers of religions other than Catholic, foreigners living in Poland permanent or temporary, but also Poles, who have a different color than white, and from foreign origin. It also offends all citizens of this country who do not support extreme nationalism, hiding under the patriotic attitude.
The Anti Fascist Demonstration is organised by CIA what stands in Polish for Centrum Informacji Anarchistycznej at the Metro Station Świętokrzyska in the center of Warsaw.
The demonstrators wants to show that there is no place for fascisme and Nazism in Poland.
