At the Piłsudskiego Square in the centre of Warsaw is a large military parade to celebrate Polish Independence Day. Warsaw, Poland. 11/11/2009.
It includes a show with original, historical military vehicles. It’s a rainy day but people from all ages are coming to see the parade. Young and old bring flags and everybody is eager to hear the speech of the Polish President.

Hi Nikola,
Well it's my "first" independence day here in Poland because we moved from Belgium too Warsaw last March/April.
I was very early at the place because i had a lot of other reportages to do that day. So unforunally i didn't made it to cover the speech of the president.
For the rest...whole the city (and probably also the rest of the country) was decorated with Polish flags.
One of the highlights each year is the Historical Military Parade.
Also on independence day they oraganise the Run Of Independece. I've made a very short, unexpected, photostorie about that which you can see at the Demotix Sport page.
And as last on independence day i've shot a few pictures from the Anti-Fascist Demonstration.
It was a very busy day with unfortunaly extremely a lot of rain.
Regards
iori
