The Cadavidaimporta.org claimed that there were 2 million people at a demonstration, 17 October 2009, in Madrid against the new abortion law. People not only came from all parts of Spain, but also 234 associations, from forty five countries, supported the event with many representatives participating in the demonstration.

Part of the manifesto of the organisers spells out the objections not only to abortion as a practice but also the decriminalisation of abortion. Moreover another aspect of the new Spanish abortion law that is unacceptable to the demonstrators is the fact that it imposes on health care and education professionals the obligation to get involved with gender ideology and its vision on sex and the person.

New: Hi Ignacio pity we missed

Hi Ignacio pity we missed each other. At apporx 6:15pm the organisers from the stage said that there were 1.5million people and they hoped that it would reach 2million. A few minutes later they said it was two million. Hence why I say "The Cadavidaimporta.org claimed ......" I have never seen two million people in my life and from the press stand there was no way of checking. I basically covered the the route of the official march and it was packed. The organisers also said that the Castellana was full from Atocha up to Colon and so was Serrano. But I had no way of checking and they were not showing any aerial views. Lucky for me I had the near scoop of the lesbians demonstrating. I say near because a photographer showed up some time later and I think there was a reporter taking notes. But by this time, as I said in the write up, I had some people around me objecting to me taking photos. That is why I missed the actual taking of the placard at close range. Lawrence
